Job Overview

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is in search of a dedicated Highway Maintenance Technician to perform a range of essential Highway Maintenance Services, alongside various related duties under close guidance. We are looking for a qualified individual who will undergo training in Routine Highway/Roadway Maintenance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and clear drainage systems.
  • Mow grass and remove vegetation from roadways.
  • Repair damaged or worn pavements and road edges.
  • Participate in cleanup efforts following storms.
  • Conduct repairs on fences and signage.
  • Remove litter and debris from roadways.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Operate machinery utilized in Highway Maintenance.
  • Utilize hand tools including shovels, rakes, and brooms.
  • Employ power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, and blowers.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent is mandatory.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  • A valid driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of clean driving record is required.
  • Ability to work in challenging weather conditions.
  • Capable of lifting moderately heavy items.
  • Must be able to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for extended periods.
  • Good hand-eye coordination is essential.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work plans and schedules based on workload or seasonal demands.
