The ideal candidate will be expected to cover maternity leaves for existing staff, ensuring continuity of care during this period.
Coverage Requirements: The position will require coverage for two maternity leaves, with potential for ongoing locum tenens support thereafter.
- Schedule: 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday for routine surgical duties and clinic visits.
- Call Responsibilities: Evening call begins at 5 PM, primarily operative in nature, determined by the supervising surgeon.
- Team Collaboration: The opportunity to share call responsibilities if two Physician Assistants are hired.
- Work Environment: Academic medical center setting.
- Full-Time Equivalent: Seeking two full-time positions to ensure adequate coverage for daily operations and call duties.
- Key Responsibilities: Assist in surgical procedures and perform endoscopic vessel harvesting for cardiothoracic cases.
- Required Skills: Proficiency in routine cardiac surgeries, including AVR, MVR, CABG, and familiarity with vascular and thoracic procedures.
- Technology: Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Support Team: Collaborate with CVOR technicians, nursing staff, and anesthesia teams.
- Reason for Coverage: To provide necessary support during maternity leaves of current staff members.
- Team Player: Must be adaptable and willing to work collaboratively to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, including additional compensation for call duties, malpractice coverage, and travel expenses.
