Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, cash receipts, cash disbursements, payroll, fixed assets, budgets, financial reporting, and treasury.
  • Supervise and train accounting and payroll staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts, and review monthly variances to budget.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting, including financial statements and statutory reports.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and internal controls.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum five years of management-level experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting operations.
  • Knowledge of Medi-Cal and Medicare programs, county healthcare systems, hospitals, or other healthcare financial operations.
  • Ability to understand, evaluate, interpret, and apply rules, laws, regulations, program requirements, and industry guidance.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Working Conditions:

The Controller will work in a general office environment with moderate noise levels. The position requires regular contact with co-workers, managers, external partners, and vendors in person, by telephone, and via work-related electronic communications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
