EQA Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Part-time ESL Teacher to join our team. As a Haitian Creole speaking educator, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic success of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Teach, co-teach, and tutor ELL students to ensure they have access to the curriculum and can build their English language skills.
- Translate, modify, and adjust assignments, assessments, and other documents to ensure student success.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure all ELL students receive the appropriate supports, accommodations, and modifications.
- Build and leverage transformative relationships to promote student growth.
- Continuously develop your own craft to improve teaching practices.
- Must be fluent in Haitian Creole.
- Must be comfortable with technology.
- 2+ years of experience teaching ELL students with a demonstrated record of raising student achievement.
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, relationship building, and management skills.
- A learning mindset dedicated to effectively and innovatively problem-solving and constantly improving.
- A passion for improving educational opportunities for urban students and for being part of a strong, mission-driven team.
- A commitment to EQA's mission, vision, and growth.
- 20 hours per week, most likely in the afternoons Monday - Friday.
- $30 per hour.
- Reports to the Special Education Coordinator.
