About the Position

California State University is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers in the Music Department, College of Liberal Arts. The positions are available as determined by need and funding during the Fall, Winter, and/or Spring Quarters for the academic year.

Job Summary

The Music Department is seeking qualified candidates to teach a variety of music courses, including activity classes, private instruction, and lecture classes in music theory, music appreciation, music technology, and music history. The successful candidate will have a strong background in music and the ability to teach a diverse range of students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach music courses, including activity classes, private instruction, and lecture classes
  • Develop and implement curriculum for music courses
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental and university service
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Music or a related field
  • Experience teaching music courses at the university level
  • Strong background in music theory, history, and performance
  • Ability to teach a diverse range of students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant work experience in music education or performance
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment
