DECA specializes in handling both medium to large volume production runs while also accommodating smaller orders and prototype builds. Our expertise encompasses a variety of wire types and connector terminations, with core specialties including:

Position Overview:
The Production Manager position at DECA is a newly created role that reports directly to the President. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to define this position, implement industry-leading practices, and play a crucial role in the company's growth trajectory.
This position requires a hands-on leader to oversee DECA's production facility, which includes developing production schedules, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines, and evaluating the efficiency of manufacturing equipment. Additionally, the Production Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the facility and will provide leadership to the production team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the facility, actively engaging on the production floor and conducting daily team meetings.
- Collaborate with the President to establish and manage production metrics, utilizing them for informed decision-making (e.g., on-time delivery, scrap rates, and returns).
- Set productivity targets for manufacturing teams, balancing increased output with cost reduction.
- Develop and implement workflow policies and procedures that enhance efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Inspire, support, and guide production staff, addressing day-to-day employee relations issues. This role will oversee several line leads and a team of hourly production employees.
- Ensure quality standards are met in partnership with Quality Technicians, with responsibilities varying based on experience.
- Focus on continuous improvement by applying best practices, including lean manufacturing techniques and cross-training opportunities.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling of production personnel.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations to maintain an accident-free workplace.
- Assess machine resources to guarantee ongoing production and minimize downtime.
Candidate Requirements:
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant production experience, including at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Experience in inventory management, procurement, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
- Proficient in hiring, training, scheduling, and managing employee relations.
- Technologically adept, with experience in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel); familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives and/or Lean manufacturing is preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO processes is essential, as DECA operates as an ISO-certified facility. Previous experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing context is preferred, with automotive industry experience (IATF) being a plus.
