Body Shop Supervisor

Job Summary

The Penske Body Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the body shop, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes managing staff, maintaining a safe working environment, and adhering to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and motivate staff to achieve high levels of productivity and quality
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
  • Oversee the completion of tasks, including cab/sheet metal repair, composite bonding/repair, and surface preparation
  • Perform diagnostic procedures and repairs, including suspension repair/alignment, electrical/brake/cooling system, and welding/fabricating
  • Coordinate daily work duties and communicate with internal and external customers
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of body shop management experience
  • At least 3 years of practical body shop experience
  • Estimator certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational/technical school preferred
  • Specialized training and experience in the repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer
  • Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade, including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Working Conditions

The associate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods. The associate must be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms. The associate must also be able to see and hear in order to safely navigate the work environment.
