Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Hometown, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to perform ultrasound procedures, position patients, and operate equipment to obtain high-quality scans. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of ultrasound technology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Position patients and operate equipment to obtain high-quality ultrasound scans
  • Assist physicians with recommendations for optimal study selection and technical factors
  • Document department records, including inventory of supplies and patient statistics
  • Maintain accurate patient records and prepare patient folders
  • Prepare ultrasound rooms and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available
  • Operate hospital computer systems as required
  • Secure pertinent medical history from patients and provide radiologists with adequate information
  • Work closely with radiologists to ensure optimal outcomes for each procedure
  • Maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service
  • Comply with established hospital safety standards and maintain annual CPR certification
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and eligible for ARDMS registry
  • ARDMS Registered or ARDMS registry eligible within 24 months of graduation
  • CPR certification
Working Conditions:

The ideal candidate will be able to work flexible hours, including odd hours and on-call shifts. Ability to stand for long periods, view video display screens, and perform lifting activities related to patients is required.

This position requires the ability to recognize needs and behaviors of all age groups and to modify approach and communication skills accordingly.
