About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients and select technical factors and equipment to obtain high-quality scans, utilizing immobilization techniques as needed.
  • Deliver patient care and adhere to department standards for quality improvement.
  • Document patient records and maintain accurate inventory of supplies.
  • Secure patient history for each procedure to provide radiologists with necessary information.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations to protect patients and staff.
  • Stay up-to-date with current ultrasound skills and developments in the field.
  • Provide instruction and assistance to students and fellow technologists as needed.
Requirements
  • ARDMS Registry eligibility; successful completion within the first year of employment.
  • High degree of technical knowledge to perform specialized U/S studies with minimal assistance.
  • Able to make diagnostic judgments and present findings to radiologists.
  • CPR Certification.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to adjust to flexible hours and respond to emergency call-backs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, view small CRT screens, and perform lifting activities.
  • Exposed to radiation and able to operate portable equipment.
  • Ability to communicate with patients and adjust to flexible work hours.
  • Participation in on-call program and availability to department needs.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and use patient handling equipment when necessary.
