Position Overview:
The Server in the Food and Nutrition Services Department plays a crucial role in delivering quality meals to students while adhering to established guidelines and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are representative of the essential functions of the position:
1. Serve food in a designated cafeteria setting, ensuring proper heating, packaging, and presentation of food items.
2. Maintain strict adherence to safe and sanitary food handling practices.
3. Organize food items according to set regulations, ensuring proper rotation and replenishment.
4. Assist with the receipt of food deliveries, ensuring quality and compliance.
5. Uphold cleanliness and organization in the serving area and associated equipment.
6. Support the completion of daily production reports and maintain necessary records for compliance with nutritional programs.
7. Respond to communications in a timely manner.
8. Execute assigned cleaning tasks to ensure a hygienic work environment.
9. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill job responsibilities:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in food service.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Food Handlers Permit.
  • Valid driver's license.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in English to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fundamental math and accounting abilities.
  • Basic computer skills, including keyboarding and word processing.
  • Customer service and public relations skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Understanding of HACCP Standard Operating Procedures.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to work in environments with varying noise levels and temperatures.

Work Environment:
The position involves working in a food service environment with exposure to heat, sharp objects, and cleaning chemicals. The role requires effective communication and problem-solving skills while interacting with various stakeholders.
