Job Summary:

We are looking for an individual with a passion for biomedical research to conduct independent basic science experimentation under the mentorship of a senior scientist. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in biomedical or physical sciences and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement experimental designs, techniques, and protocols to test hypotheses.
  • Analyze and interpret data from experiments, identifying patterns and trends.
  • Collaborate with other professionals in the lab to advance scientific knowledge and develop new ideas.
  • Present findings at lab meetings and contribute to the preparation of articles on research outcomes and progress.
  • Participate in editing and proofing of grant proposals, annual grant reports, and manuscripts for publication.
  • Train graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in experimental design, technique, and performance.
  • Administer behavioral, exercise, and other interventions in clinical settings.
  • Conduct follow-up of participants enrolled in clinical trials and cohort studies.

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:

  • Perform participant recruitment and data collection over the phone, by email, or in dialysis centers, in-patient, and out-patient settings.
  • Report enrollment, follow-up, and retention rates for clinical trials and cohort studies.
  • Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clinical trials and cohort studies.
  • Perform blood processing and storage.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or Physical Sciences required.
  • A minimum commitment of two years is required, and placement in position may not exceed three years.
  • Effective communication skills to work with all levels of the organization.

The salary range for this role is $44,371.60 - $62,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
