Biomedical Research Scientist

At NYU Langone Health, we are committed to advancing medical research and improving patient outcomes. Our team is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Biomedical Research Scientist to join our ranks.
Job Summary:
We are looking for an individual with a passion for biomedical research to conduct independent basic science experimentation under the mentorship of a senior scientist. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in biomedical or physical sciences and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement experimental designs, techniques, and protocols to test hypotheses.
- Analyze and interpret data from experiments, identifying patterns and trends.
- Collaborate with other professionals in the lab to advance scientific knowledge and develop new ideas.
- Present findings at lab meetings and contribute to the preparation of articles on research outcomes and progress.
- Participate in editing and proofing of grant proposals, annual grant reports, and manuscripts for publication.
- Train graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in experimental design, technique, and performance.
- Administer behavioral, exercise, and other interventions in clinical settings.
- Conduct follow-up of participants enrolled in clinical trials and cohort studies.
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
- Perform participant recruitment and data collection over the phone, by email, or in dialysis centers, in-patient, and out-patient settings.
- Report enrollment, follow-up, and retention rates for clinical trials and cohort studies.
- Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clinical trials and cohort studies.
- Perform blood processing and storage.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or Physical Sciences required.
- A minimum commitment of two years is required, and placement in position may not exceed three years.
- Effective communication skills to work with all levels of the organization.
The salary range for this role is $44,371.60 - $62,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
