Join our dedicated team at Westchester Manor as a Practical Nursing Specialist. We offer Full Time positions across all shifts, including weekends, to accommodate your schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
The Practical Nursing Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to our residents. This position involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring that each resident receives personalized attention and support.
Core Duties Include:
- Delivering bedside care, focusing on personal hygiene and comfort of residents
- Monitoring and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate
- Gathering and documenting health information from residents
- Facilitating communication between residents, registered nurses, and physicians
- Administering prescribed oral medications and injections
- Conducting blood sugar tests and managing urinary catheter care
- Providing wound care and performing dressing changes
- Maintaining ostomy sites with appropriate care
- Assisting residents with daily hygiene needs
- Observing and reporting any changes in residents' conditions
- Ensuring accurate charting and maintenance of medical records

Applicants should possess an Associate's degree from an accredited community college, technical school, or vocational institution, along with North Carolina certification as a practical nurse. A Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
