The Pharmacy Technician II plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate dispensing of medications and maintaining proper documentation. This position requires a high school diploma and completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program or two years of experience in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support to pharmacists as permitted by state law.
- Ensure accurate dispensing of medications and maintain proper documentation.
- Assist with medication inventory management and ordering.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
- High school diploma required and completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program or two years of experience in a hospital setting.
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of employment.
- Pharmacy technician certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.
- Prior experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy.
- Knowledge of drug names and medical terminology.
- Basic math skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deliver excellent customer service.
