Job Summary

The Advanced Medical Support Assistant plays a critical role in the delivery of high-quality patient care in the Veterans Health Administration. This position requires a unique blend of administrative and clinical skills, with a focus on providing exceptional support to patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient appointments, surgeries, and other medical procedures
  • Manage patient records, including demographic and medical information
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Provide administrative support to healthcare teams, including scheduling, data entry, and reporting
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on patient care and administrative support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic health records and scheduling systems
