POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist is tasked with diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance to guarantee optimal and efficient machinery operation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the functionality of machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Executing preventive maintenance tasks on all equipment.
  • Providing essential hand tools for maintenance tasks.
  • Conducting troubleshooting on all machinery to identify and rectify malfunctions.
  • Removing faulty components and installing replacements to restore operational capacity.
  • Fabricating and repairing parts as necessary.
  • Interpreting blueprints to diagnose and repair equipment effectively.
  • Maintaining a safe and organized work environment by utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Performing welding and cutting tasks as needed.
  • Adjusting and maintaining equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Supporting quality initiatives as per industry standards.
  • Carrying out additional related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

*High School Diploma or GED preferred, or an equivalent combination of maintenance education and experience. A minimum of one to three years of general maintenance experience is required, with welding experience being advantageous.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and comprehend written work instructions.

REASONING ABILITY

Requires general problem-solving skills, with the ability to define issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

CERTIFICATIONS

Not mandatory, but maintenance training or certification is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be occasionally exposed to fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and varying weather conditions. Exposure to extreme temperatures may occur. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.

Work hours will generally range from eight to ten hours per day, five days a week, with the possibility of additional overtime on short notice.
