Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The chosen candidate will oversee the effective design, execution, launch, and ongoing enhancement of all designated manufacturing machinery and processes that yield the company's products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Engineering Specialist will be accountable for, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Implementing production methodologies with a focus on continuous enhancement.
  • Generating documentation for production assistance and data analysis.
  • Creating and revising process control plans and PFMEA documentation.
  • Designing training programs for production supervisors, technicians, and operators.
  • Selecting suppliers for machinery and production materials.
  • Establishing and communicating criteria to suppliers for provided items.
  • Identifying stock items and quantities for equipment spare parts and production materials.
  • Defining preventative maintenance tasks and schedules for machinery.
  • Initiating work orders for machinery malfunctions.
  • Maintaining plant layouts using AutoCAD software.
  • Addressing environmental, health, and safety concerns within the manufacturing area.
  • Engaging in the planning of personnel safety and protection initiatives in accordance with OSHA/IOSHA and regulatory agency standards, ensuring all reporting personnel are trained and compliant.
  • Ensuring adherence to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations applicable to the company.
  • Setting area objectives to support production and strategic goals.
  • Developing, documenting, and facilitating continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, production, and quality.
  • Creating or updating standard operational procedures and monitoring staff to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinating safety initiatives with the Safety Administrator.
  • Staying informed about materials relevant to the company's needs through trade publications, seminars, and training sessions.
  • Supporting TS16949 initiatives.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution is required, along with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience and/or training in engineering or manufacturing.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Outlook is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in both individual and team settings.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a proactive approach.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are typical of standard office and manufacturing floor settings, featuring moderate noise levels and a high level of activity. The majority of work will occur in a manufacturing environment, with occasional tasks in a climate-controlled setting. While performing the duties of this position, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and fumes. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.
