Job Overview

The Furniture Sales Associate is a key member of our sales team, responsible for providing outstanding customer service, meeting sales goals, and demonstrating superior product knowledge to customers. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers
  • Meet hourly sales, protection plan, return rate, and Star Rewards goals on a personal and departmental basis
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge, including current vendor tags and pamphlets, and attend training classes as needed
  • Assist customers in all aspects of the total store experience, including sales, returns, and delivery issues
  • Use MySa clientele program to maintain customer profiles and contact information, and increase personal sales
  • Be knowledgeable of and perform sales support functions related to POS procedures
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, including pre- and post-delivery contacts
  • Adhere to Asset Protection and inventory control and compliance procedures

Requirements

  • No education or experience required
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers
  • Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing/walking around the store or department
  • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and color vision
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register, and ability to process register transactions
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
