About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support our laboratory operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and accurately completing work according to these guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Orders, receives, and triages incoming specimens, evaluating specimen integrity and ensuring accurate delivery to appropriate departments.
- Collects drug screen specimens, performs breath alcohol testing, and reports results of waived testing performed.
- Processes specimens/slides according to the Laboratory Handbook and SOPs, ensuring accurate delivery to appropriate departments.
- Issues/irradiates blood/blood products and performs clerical functions, including filing and record maintenance.
- Contacts clients and patients to obtain missing information as needed and provides on-call and mobile services as required.
- Maintains adequate supply inventories and notifies supervisor/manager of any issues in a timely manner.
- Assists in the training/orientation of new staff members and participates in the CSI and continuing education programs.
- Performs laboratory information systems functions for test receipt, requisition, and labeling, and may perform and record required checks of laboratory equipment and test systems.

Education/Experience:
