About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support our laboratory operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and accurately completing work according to these guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Orders, receives, and triages incoming specimens, evaluating specimen integrity and ensuring accurate delivery to appropriate departments.
  2. Collects drug screen specimens, performs breath alcohol testing, and reports results of waived testing performed.
  3. Processes specimens/slides according to the Laboratory Handbook and SOPs, ensuring accurate delivery to appropriate departments.
  4. Issues/irradiates blood/blood products and performs clerical functions, including filing and record maintenance.
  5. Contacts clients and patients to obtain missing information as needed and provides on-call and mobile services as required.
  6. Maintains adequate supply inventories and notifies supervisor/manager of any issues in a timely manner.
  7. Assists in the training/orientation of new staff members and participates in the CSI and continuing education programs.
  8. Performs laboratory information systems functions for test receipt, requisition, and labeling, and may perform and record required checks of laboratory equipment and test systems.

Education/Experience:
