Senior Cardiothoracic Surgeon with Leadership Responsibilities

The Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) and IU Health Physicians are in search of a skilled surgeon to enhance the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery. The ideal candidate will undertake leadership roles while delivering comprehensive cardiovascular surgical services for adult patients, including procedures such as CABG, Valve Replacement, TAVR, TEVAR, ECMO, VAD, Valve Repair, and Aortic and Thoracic Transplant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform adult cardiovascular surgeries, including thoracic transplants and congenital cardiac procedures with an adult focus.
  • Assume leadership within the service line.
  • Provide inpatient, outpatient, and operating room coverage with shared on-call duties.
  • Support and contribute to a thriving practice with collaborative processes aimed at achieving optimal patient outcomes.
  • This is a full-time position; academic and clinical rank will be based on experience.
  • Residents will have rotations in this service.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must possess an M.D., DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Completion of a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship or integrated program is required.
  • American Board Certified/Board Eligible in Surgery.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
