We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical/Surgical/Telemetry team at Sovah Health - Martinsville. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Contribute to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN, and perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
- Administer medication as directed, and document patient care given.
- Coordinate and incorporate the patient and family into the plan of care and delivery of care interventions, taking into consideration psychosocial/spiritual/cultural concerns.
- Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
- Current licensure as Licensed Practical Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Verbal ability to present information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice.
- AHA BLS certification required.
- PALS certification, if applicable.
