Key Responsibilities

As a Blockchain Engineer at Crossmint, you will be responsible for developing smart contracts, protocols, and backend integrations at the cutting edge of wallets and digital assets. Your duties will include:
  • Developing high-quality smart contract code: ensuring it is correct, gas-optimized, and maintainable.
  • Implementing secure coding practices: adhering to security best practices and collaborating with auditors to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Creating integration code: facilitating the deployment, observability, and maintenance of smart contracts, as well as interactions with contracts from our backend and frontend.
  • Documenting architecture and design: both individually and collaboratively.
  • Managing projects from inception to completion: overseeing all phases from conceptualization to delivery and beyond.
  • Participating in on-call duties: engaging in paid on-call shifts (once or twice a quarter).
  • Mentoring new team members.
Candidate Profile

To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering high-quality smart contract code.
  • Strong reading and writing comprehension skills in English.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Professional Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience in smart contract development, focusing on innovative solutions rather than reusing existing contracts.
    • A minimum of 2 years working on security-critical projects, with an emphasis on minimizing bugs in production.
    • At least 2 years of experience designing protocols in areas such as blockchain applications, decentralized finance, digital credentials, and distributed systems.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages, particularly smart contract languages like Solidity, Rust, or Move.
Preferred Qualifications

We highly value candidates with any of the following experiences:
  • Background in Security/Cryptography: Alternatively, a background in mathematics, programming, or security competitions.
  • Knowledge of Blockchain/Smart Contracts on Non-EVM Chains: Experience with Solana, Sui, Aptos, or Cardano.
  • Hands-on Experience with Onchain Products: Engaged with crypto products, created digital assets, or participated in DeFi.
  • Published EIPs, patents, open-source code, or research papers in relevant fields.
