Job Title: Steward

Join Ruths Chris Steak House as a Steward, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in our kitchen and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the dishwashing station is clean and well-maintained, adhering to all safety guidelines and practices.
  • Clean and polish the exterior of the building, including windows, floors, and trash cans, according to the housekeeping schedule.
  • Set up and break down the dish machine, including arms, screens, and baskets, on a daily basis.
  • Check the dish machine to ensure it is operating correctly and report any defects to management.
  • Wash, store, and stock all plateware, glassware, utensils, and equipment to meet the needs of the business.
  • Monitor the water temperature of the dish machine during operation and report any issues.
  • Remove trash from the dish room and kitchen, and replace liners in cans regularly.
  • Assist front and back-of-house personnel in maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Store food, equipment, and supplies in a clean and organized manner.
  • Maintain the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation in the work area.

Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, lift, and carry heavy objects.
  • Effective communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with loud noises, extreme temperatures, and fumes.
  • Must be able to wear cut gloves as a safety requirement.
  • Good grooming habits and a clean appearance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months of general labor or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand communication in English.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
