About the Opportunity

CareVet Health is seeking a talented Veterinarian to join our team at our thriving practice in Staten Island, NY. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to design and lead our hospital's clinical and physical growth, while providing exceptional medical care to our patients and their owners.

As the incoming Veterinarian, you will be the visionary for the renovation, informing both the design and the equipment invested in, while CareVet Health manages the logistics and execution of the renovation.

Responsibilities

As a Veterinarian at CareVet Health, you will be responsible for:

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high-quality care
Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree
  • Licensure in the state where you will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research, and surgery of animals
