The Arizona Center for Youth Resources (ACYR) is dedicated to fostering success through educational initiatives, skill development, and employment pathways aimed at empowering youth and young adults towards self-sufficiency. Our team is instrumental in cultivating a positive culture, emphasizing growth and hospitality through dynamic educational activities and services that create an inclusive atmosphere. Each team member is responsible for establishing trust and rapport with youth and young adults, ensuring they remain engaged in their planned services. Additionally, our team plays a vital role in connecting with the community and promoting the mission of ACYR.
The Youth Support Services Manager (Social Support Manager) addresses the social, emotional, and familial challenges that hinder students' ability to thrive in an educational setting. This professional evaluates issues to provide or refer necessary interventions that eliminate barriers to learning, which may involve school, family, and community resources. The relationship built is founded on confidentiality and may include initial assessments, consultations with staff and families, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, community referrals, and school-based support groups.
The Youth Support Services Manager significantly influences students' lives by directly engaging with them and overseeing social work interns while maintaining partnerships with community referral organizations. As a crucial member of our support team, they collaborate with school leadership, educators, success coaches, and other stakeholders to develop and execute tailored support plans for youth/students throughout their engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison among the School, Community, and families, facilitating counseling referrals, home visits, and access to community resources to support youth and students in functioning effectively within an educational framework.
- Provide connections to resources and services to assist youth and students in overcoming barriers and challenges.
- Oversee a comprehensive internship program for Masters of Social Work students.
- Engage in the development, coordination, and implementation of training sessions to promote positive youth development practices among all youth/students.
- Manage ACYR's SNAP CAN program.
Required Qualifications
- A Master's Degree in Social Work with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience post-graduation.
- Ability to maintain certification as a Field Instructor from Arizona State University School of Social Work.
- Capability to excel in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating leadership and composure under pressure, maintaining high morale.
- Experience in youth development, education, and workforce development is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with and application of positive youth development practices across all levels of work.
- Prior experience in public speaking, facilitation, and effective presentation skills is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate understanding of the challenges faced by low-income families.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with opportunity youth.
- Experience with at-risk youth is a plus.
- Bi-lingual/bi-cultural candidates are encouraged to apply.
Background Check
Must possess a reputation for integrity and trustworthiness. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions may disqualify candidates based on type, number, severity, and recency. The background check will include reference checks, employment verification, educational history, and a criminal background search.
ACYR is an at-will employer, and any employment offer is contingent upon successful completion of the background check.
Certification/Licenses/Other Requirements
Valid Arizona Level II Fingerprint Clearance Card and a valid Arizona Driver's License are required. Use of an insured personal vehicle for agency-related business is necessary.

Physical Demands
This role requires energetic interactions between ACYR team members and students.
