Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical services to patients in a community health center setting, working under the collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
  • Conduct thorough patient examinations, screenings, and health education, using a systematic approach to history and physical appraisal.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests, interpret test results, and perform therapeutic procedures as needed.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in providing continuity of care.
  • Prescribe medications, dispense supplies, and provide other treatments to aid in the management of acute and chronic health problems.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program and a Master's degree in nursing with advanced skills in physical assessment.
  • ANA Certification prior to or within one year of employment.
  • License to practice medicine in the State of Virginia and current DEA registration.
