Music Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team at Hospice of the Western Reserve. As a Music Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to our patients and their families.

• Provide direct music therapy services to patients and their families in various settings, including homes, inpatient units, and alternative care facilities.
• Conduct thorough assessments to identify individual patient needs and develop personalized music therapy plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
• Educate staff members on the benefits and applications of music therapy in hospice care.
• Develop and lead music therapy groups to promote socialization, emotional expression, and relaxation.
• Maintain accurate records and reports, including patient progress notes and therapy plans.
• Participate in bereavement support and counseling services as needed.
• Assist with orientation and training of new staff members and volunteers.
• Develop and supervise music therapy internships and programs.

• Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC)
• At least 1 year of experience in music therapy or a music therapy internship in hospice care or a related field
• Soothing singing voice and proficiency on an accompanying instrument
• Ability to work with patients and families from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift and transport music equipment (up to 60 lbs)
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
