Position Overview:

Security Specialist

Part-Time, Day Shifts

Role Responsibilities:
  • Ensures the safety of the facility and its personnel by conducting regular patrols; overseeing surveillance systems; examining buildings, equipment, and entry points; granting access as necessary.
  • Mitigates risks and damages by identifying irregularities; educating violators on policies and procedures; detaining unauthorized individuals.
  • Maintains communication with the Security Supervisor regarding all concerns and potential issues.
  • Supports the Supervisor with various tasks and projects, including lock management, security evaluations, and product assessments.
  • Demonstrates the ability to carry out essential functions with minimal oversight. Employs non-violent crisis intervention techniques when required to manage interactions with visitors, patients, families, and staff.
  • Interacts with individuals across all age groups, from infants to seniors.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Capability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of Taser X-26 certification, baton training, and handcuffing techniques.
  • Prior experience with law enforcement or military service is preferred.
  • Certification as a Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) from the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety is mandatory.
