We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Support Specialist to join our team at ReDiscover. As a Community Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders.

About the Role

The Community Support Specialist will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide individualized support and services to clients. This may include:

  • Maintaining and interacting with a caseload of clients with diverse characteristics
  • Facilitating each client's achievement of long-range outcomes, such as symptom management, employment, and independent living
  • Engaging difficult-to-serve clients by investigating all potential resources to gain access and make connections
  • Helping remove barriers for clients, including referring them to educational or working programs and assisting with transportation barriers
  • Collecting and maintaining information about clients and documenting interactions within our designated electronic medical record
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A 4-year degree in a social science field or 4 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • A valid automobile driver's license, appropriate automobile insurance, and a safe, reliable, registered automobile available for use during work
  • Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders
  • Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word, and Excel programs, as well as G-Suite
