Job Summary

Sysco is seeking a highly skilled Product Support Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our support department, you will play a critical role in achieving company goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute Category Management and other initiatives within assigned categories to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Manage and support the implementation of corporate category strategies and initiatives within operation company (OpCo) to ensure alignment with corporate requirements.
  • Support operation company (OpCo) sales staff with product assortment updates, informational inquiries, and delivery of product cutting and training sessions to enhance sales performance.
  • Drive operation company (OpCo) required category initiatives and assortment in harmony with corporate requirements to achieve business objectives.
  • Execute recommended assortment changes and support positive local supplier relationships to ensure seamless inventory management and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with planners, suppliers, brokers, sales teams, and customer service to ensure effective communication and timely issue resolution.
  • Manage and promote local assortment within assigned categories to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Manage local supplier and broker relationships to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Provide input, support, and guidance to operation company (OpCo) Sales Specialists to enhance sales performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitate corporate assortment training at the operation company (OpCo) as required to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Conduct local supplier reviews and negotiations using corporate best business practices to ensure optimal supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate and secure supplier-funded customer deviated pricing to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Facilitate negotiations and management of local Earned Income programs to ensure optimal revenue generation.
  • Manage and review company Earned Income components to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Work with supplier Category Captains or Advisors for focus categories as required to ensure alignment with corporate requirements.
  • Support inventory depletion process by identifying items to be discontinued and assisting in supplier negotiations to return products.
  • Drive results on focus categories and support promotional activities and selling events to enhance sales performance.
  • Direct line of contact for local sales and communicate with and assist Sales on all issues to ensure seamless issue resolution.
  • New item and Vendor creation to enhance product offerings and supplier relationships.
  • Drive increased Sysco Brand sales to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage category equities and market pricing to support pricing integrity in conjunction with RevMan team.
  • Collaborate and review Sales and GP results of Market Cost Price changes with Revenue Management team to ensure optimal business outcomes.
  • Provide market commodity/industry news and updates to the sales organization to enhance knowledge and skill development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions.
  • 3+ years of experience in a retail, wholesale, or distribution environment.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to drive positive merchandising change.
