Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess assigned patients and develop, implement, and document nursing care plans.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and medical procedures.
  • Conduct various patient assessments and administer medications within the registered nurse's scope of practice.
  • Encourage patient independence by setting care goals and educating patients and families about their conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
  • Utilize experience and judgment to execute a variety of tasks and achieve objectives.
  • Perform diverse responsibilities as required.
  • Demonstrate creativity and flexibility in approach.
  • Typically reports to a unit or department manager.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a compact state license upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in a PACU setting.
