Shift: Day shifts, 8 AM to 5 PM, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an outpatient healthcare environment
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an Orthopedic context
- Valid Limited X-Ray license with expertise in extremities and orthopedic procedures
- Skilled in blood/lab draws and venipuncture
- Experience in wound care and cast management
- Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program or national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI
- BLS certification
- ARRT certification
- Preferred: 2+ years as a Medical Assistant in outpatient Orthopedics
- Preferred: Familiarity with CS-Link/Epic systems
- Preferred: Experience with Allscripts
- Preferred: Knowledge of Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissions
- Preferred: Phlebotomy certification
- Preferred: Understanding of medical terminology
- Preferred: Experience with medical insurance and referral processes
Required Skills:
• Ability to prepare patients for examinations by conducting preliminary physical assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting patient history
• 6+ months of experience as a Medical Assistant in an Orthopedic setting
• Proficiency in blood/lab draws and venipuncture
• Experience in wound care and cast management
Preferred Skills:
• 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient Orthopedics
• Familiarity with CS-Link/Epic
• Experience with Allscripts
• Knowledge of Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissions
• Phlebotomy certification
• Understanding of medical terminology
• Experience with medical insurance and referral processes
Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome patients, record vital signs, review current medications, and document in medical records
• Assist in tracking and monitoring department-specific data
• Communicate policies, procedures, or services to patients within the scope of practice
• Prepare examination/procedure rooms according to patient needs
• Clean and reprocess equipment and supplies following departmental protocols
• Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by healthcare providers
• Collect and prepare designated lab work or specimens as instructed by providers
