Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a skilled Electromagnetics Materials Engineer to become a vital member of the Advanced Materials Team within the Special Technology Integration (STI) directorate.

Role Summary:

The St. Louis Specialty Technology Integration (STI) Team is engaged in a variety of critical functions, including technology advancement at the foundational level, concept innovation, integration analysis, design implementation, and developmental quality assurance for Boeing Defense programs. This role emphasizes the integration of Electromagnetic (EM) effects engineering into the development, manufacturing, and delivery of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with program requirements and Materials & Processing engineering to establish EM performance specifications for specialty materials.
  • Develop and utilize EM design and analysis tools to facilitate the maturation and qualification of specialty materials.
  • Conduct research and development activities related to innovative designs and integration concepts.
  • Oversee EM testing following established procedures to evaluate and qualify materials against performance specifications.
  • Create novel EM measurement techniques as necessary.
  • Perform trade studies, modeling, and simulations to predict system performance and optimize designs.
  • Manage supplier and partner performance to ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
  • Support product design and qualification through root-cause analysis of anomalies.
  • Assist project management by providing necessary inputs and reporting on project status.
  • Ensure assignments are completed within budget and on schedule while maintaining high-quality results.
  • Contribute to proposal writing to support new business development.
  • Work under general mentorship.

Work Environment:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work at the designated location.

Security Clearance:

U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance is necessary post-start.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), or Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3).
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required.
  • For Level 3: Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or equivalent education and experience.
