Library Assistant

Job Summary:

The Medina County District Library is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to assist with the sorting, shelving, and processing of library materials. This part-time position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, interact with patrons, and perform various tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort and shelve library materials in a timely and accurate manner
• Assist with clerical, maintenance, and housekeeping tasks as needed
• Provide excellent customer service to patrons, answering questions and directing them to relevant areas of the library
• Operate self-check equipment and assist patrons with basic technical issues
• Search library databases and materials to assist patrons with research and borrowing needs
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in tasks

Requirements:

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, staff, and vendors
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions, with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively, with or without accommodation
• Ability to use office equipment and technology

Benefits:

• Part-time position with 15 hours per week
• Competitive hourly rate of $10.45 per hour, with a higher rate of $12.45 on Sundays
