Library Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Library Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for sorting, shelving, and processing library materials, as well as assisting with clerical, maintenance, and housekeeping tasks.

• Sort and shelve library materials in a timely and accurate manner
• Process library materials, including checking in and out books, DVDs, and other materials
• Assist with clerical tasks, such as answering phones, responding to emails, and performing data entry
• Perform maintenance and housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and organizing the library
• Assist with program and display set-up and tear down as assigned

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact with patrons, staff, and community members
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and perform detailed work
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively, with or without accommodation
• Ability to use office equipment, such as computers and printers

Part-time, 15 hours per week, Tuesday/Thursday, 3:00-8:00 pm (schedule subject to change)
