Role Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Girls Varsity Basketball Program Leader to enhance our Falcons Athletic program. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in basketball coaching at the high school level, demonstrating the ability to nurture the physical, emotional, and spiritual development of each athlete while embodying our values of empowerment, cultural engagement, and global awareness.
General Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for all students and staff.
- Fulfill essential job functions in accordance with specific role descriptions.
- Maintain punctuality and professionalism in all interactions.
- Uphold the standards outlined in the Staff Handbook.
- Foster trust and respect within the school community.
- Adhere to established school procedures and organizational structures.
- Commit to the values of Daystar Academy and its mission.
- Design and lead regular practice sessions to enhance player skills and teamwork.
- Coordinate team participation in competitive events, including league games and tournaments.
- Provide constructive feedback to athletes to support their performance improvement.
- Encourage a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and mutual respect.
- Collaborate with school administration, parents, and fellow coaches to ensure the success of the basketball program.
- Prior experience playing basketball at a competitive level.
- Coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
- Comprehensive knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
