Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a reliable and skilled driver to transport raw milk from farm to processing plant or trucking terminal. As a Shoreham Farm Pickup Driver, you will be responsible for operating a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations, and policies. Your duties will include following dispatch schedules and directions from dispatch and location supervisory personnel, transporting raw milk, and taking quality and control samples at farm. You will also be responsible for measuring milk loaded into trailer, applying seals properly, and documenting seal numbers to ensure traceability and security of load. Additionally, you will follow designated routes and schedules, minimize truck idle times, and conserve fuel consumption. You will maintain positive communications with producers, listen for issues or potential problems, and report producers' comments to transportation and member services management. This is a full-time position with competitive pay, eligible for quarterly bonuses, medical, dental, vision, 401k employer match, generous vacation, rotating schedules, and return home daily. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED or equivalent, a current CDL (Class A) in the state of residence, a tanker endorsement, and a minimum of 1-year verifiable CDL driving experience. In lieu of 1-year verifiable driving experience, driver applicants may have successfully graduated from a FMCSA Entry-Level Driver Training certified driving school. Must be at least 21 years of age and meet all DOT requirements. Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements, ability to communicate effectively in the English language, basic math skills, and good organization and record keeping skills are also required.
