Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Part-Time Farm Driver to transport raw milk from our dairy farms to our processing plant or trucking terminal. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) rules, regulations, and policies, adhering to all safety practices.
  • Dispatch and Scheduling: Follow dispatch schedule and directions from dispatch and location supervisory personnel, traveling to locations to transport raw milk.
  • Quality Control: Transfer raw milk from farm containers to trailer, take quality and control samples at farm, measure milk loaded into trailer, and apply seals properly and document seal numbers to paperwork to ensure traceability and security of load.
  • Communication: Maintain positive communications with producers, listen for issues or potential problems, and report producers' comments to transportation and member services management.
  • Representative: Always represent DFA positively and professionally during interactions with producers, customers, or regulatory personnel.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-year verifiable CDL driving experience (military experience does count towards this requirement).
  • License: Must have a current CDL (Class A) in state of residence and a tanker endorsement.
  • Age: Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • DOT Requirements: Must meet all DOT requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both orally and in writing.
  • Math Skills: Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Organization: Good organization and record keeping skills.
  • Punctuality: Punctuality.
