Job Title: Line Cook

We are seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our JO Restaurant Group team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a key member of our culinary team, you will work closely with our chefs to deliver exceptional food service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items according to standard recipes and portion sizes.
  • Assume responsibility for the quality of products served, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure smooth service periods.
  • Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
  • Prepare ingredients for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing, or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and/or marinating.
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
  • Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
  • Closing the kitchen properly and following the closing checklist for kitchen stations; assist others in closing the kitchen.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chefs.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
  • At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with managers, kitchen, and dining room personnel.
  • The ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • The ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
