We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Foster Care Family Worker to join our team at The Salvation Army Children's Services. As a key member of our social services team, you will play a vital role in providing case management services for foster children and supporting their resource families.
Job Summary:The Foster Care Family Worker will be responsible for:
- Providing critical support and resources for foster families to ensure the overall health and safety of the child in care.
- Engaging with birth families to supervise family visits and help facilitate a plan of family reunification with their child in care.
- Working with the agency's Growing Relationships, Outcomes, and Well-being (GROW) initiative to develop new and unique educational programs that promote healing for families and children.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's in Social Work or related field with a minimum of three years' experience in a human service setting serving children and/or families.
- Or a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field and a minimum of five years' experience working within a human service setting serving children and/or families.
- Demonstrated understanding of the effects that separation and loss, neglect, physical and sexual abuse has on a child as well as complex developmental trauma.
- Certification or extensive training in trauma-informed care.
- A safe driving record, valid driver's license, a reliable automobile, and insurance.
The Salvation Army offers a competitive salary of $45,500 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, employer-funded pension plan, comprehensive health care coverage, and more.
