About the Role:

The Salvation Army Children's Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Foster Care Family Worker to join our team. As a Foster Care Family Worker, you will play a vital role in providing case management services for foster children who have experienced trauma and support an environment of optimal care and healing for children and their resource families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide critical support and resources for foster families to ensure the overall health and safety of the child in care.
  • Engage with birth families to supervise family visits and help facilitate a plan of family reunification with their child in care.
  • Develop and implement trauma-informed care plans to promote healing for families and children.
  • Collaborate with the agency's Growing Relationships, Outcomes, and Well-being (GROW) initiative to develop new and unique educational programs.

Requirements:

  • Master's in Social Work preferred or related field with a minimum of three years' experience in a human service setting serving children and/or families.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field and a minimum of five years' experience working within a human service setting serving children and/or families.
  • Certification or extensive training in trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, engagement skills, advocacy skills, organization skills, computer skills, and ability to work as a team member.
