Astrolab is a pioneering space technology company designing, building, and operating commercial planetary rovers to explore the solar system. We are seeking a talented software engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of mission-critical systems.

Job Description

This role will focus on developing full-stack software solutions for the FLEX rover's mission operations, including data management tools, telemetry visualization platforms, and path-planning simulation software. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing comprehensive software solutions for mission operations
  • Collaborating with external teams to create and manage interfaces between in-house systems and vendor-provided software
  • Working with IT and Infosec to ensure mission systems are secure, reliable, and highly available
  • Supporting real-time operations from the Astrolab Control Center during lunar missions, testing campaigns, and simulated training exercises

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field with 8+ years of experience
  • 8+ years of experience in software development with a strong background in full-stack frameworks such as Node.js, Django, Angular, React, etc.
  • Proven ability to manage projects through their full life cycle, from conception to delivery
  • Experience providing real-time support to internal or external customers in mission-critical environments
  • Experience developing software for mission-critical systems with a focus on reliability and security

We offer a competitive salary range of $153,000 - $196,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package, flexible time off, and a collaborative work environment.
