Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Instructor to join our team at the Department of Family Medicine and Population Health, Division of Epidemiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in identifying the factors related to high resistance to substance use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in identifying the factors related to high resistance to substance use
  • Provide additional analytic and research support to the Chair and the Department's research faculty in areas related to primary care and population health research
  • Develop and implement novel methods for data analysis and research
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support data collection and analysis
  • Lead data analysis projects and present results at conferences
  • Develop grant proposals and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in a health-related discipline (e.g. Epidemiology, Public Health)
  • Prior experience with the analysis of population-based substance use data
  • Prior experience with structural equation modeling
  • Excellent data analysis experience in SAS, R, SPSS, STATA, or equivalent statistical software
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong technical skills and professional knowledge in the scope of epidemiologic, substance use, and/or genetic epidemiology research
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experiential learning through lived experiences and/or professional service that informs worldviews and/or perspectives about substance use resistance
  • Experience in conducting qualitative data analysis projects
  • Experience with the analysis of longitudinal data
  • Experience with the analysis of twin data
