The IT Quality Assurance Specialist is accountable for engaging business users and IT team members throughout the lifecycle of projects and production. The role will actively engage and work with offshore-based consulting partners in executing our quality assurance policy and claims activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Play a lead role in system integration and regression testing for key initiatives (test planning, design, execution, defect management, and reporting).
  • Participate in the overall planning and execution of QA Teams testing objectives.
  • Coordinate testing efforts with internal and external interfaces.
  • Engage with business analysts and development teams to understand new requirements.
  • Collaborate with peers and management to develop process standards and/or enhancements to prevent the re-occurrence of QA issues.
  • Engage with business users to understand workflows and system issues assisting them in solving problems.
  • Work closely with offshore testing resources for the purpose of developing and executing test cases.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • As a Senior QA Engineer, you need to have a strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and technologies.
  • Some business background in Commercial P&C Insurance Underwriting or Claims functions.
  • Experience working on Enterprise Applications.
  • Experience in QA Roles supporting complex systems development or packaged software implementation efforts or 5+ years' experience in similar field.
  • Experience working in Agile and Waterfall projects.
  • Candidate for this role must have a strong understanding of the End-to-End (E2E) software development process and system development lifecycle including E2E testing.
  • Provide technical expertise on quality assurance and quality control.
  • Manage offshore quality assurance analysts.
  • Coordinate and execute projects, including setting up process flows, identifying and documenting potential issues, generating testing strategies, developing, and maintaining test scripts, and providing valuable QA feedback to developers.
  • Analyze product and process specifications and procedures.
  • Identify and recommend major improvements to procedural and business processes.
  • Effective time management, with the ability to execute and prioritize multiple projects at the same time.
  • Attention to detail, an analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude, and strong organizational skills.
  • Comply with best practices, standards, and procedures for quality assurance across functional and nonfunctional areas that include performance, automation, and security.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, subject matter experts, and vendor resources.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and with a team.
  • Strong desire to learn from and share knowledge with teammates.
  • Knowledge of defect systems such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Quality Center, or any other defect management tool.
