Overview

Catholic Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Health Aide to join our team at Good Samaritan University Hospital. As a Behavioral Health Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to support patients with challenging behaviors.
  • Assist with the application and removal of restraints, ensuring the physical and emotional safety of patients.
  • Identify patient triggers and communicate this information to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Perform one-to-one patient observations and monitoring, documenting observations as per policy.
  • Report patient activity and interactions to assigned nursing staff.
  • Communicate clinical matters to assigned RN or other professional staff as required.
  • Accurately perform and record vital signs, weight, and EKGs.
  • Safely assist with ADLs and psychiatric emergencies.
  • Interact therapeutically and respectfully with patients, family members, and staff.
  • Promote positive working relationships with peers and others.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with mentally ill populations preferred.
  • Previous hospital experience a plus.
  • BLS certification required from the American Heart Association.

Salary Range:

USD - USD/Hr.
