Job Overview

Position: Mold Setter/Injection Molding

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Compensation: $21.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively and safely change molds according to the production schedule and handle emergency mold changes.
  • Ensure proper setup of all molds and related functions, including mold watering, knockout, hot runner setup, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Adjust parameters of the molding press as per the process verification sheet when applicable.
  • Adhere to all safety and housekeeping protocols.
  • Report quality and scrap issues promptly to the Production Supervisor/Lead or Process Engineer.
  • Remove molds and ensure thorough cleaning of both sides.
  • Clean the MAG plate on both sides.
  • Collaborate with team leaders to develop and execute plans for mold and color changes.
  • Set up machines associated with molds, including transitioning to new molds.
  • Maintain a clean and organized mold storage area.
  • Oversee the maintenance of all mold change equipment.
  • Notify the Production Supervisor/Technical Manager of any damaged equipment.
  • Utilize proper protective equipment as required.
  • Complete the Mold Change Checklist.
  • Ensure the pit is cleared and all previous parts are tagged and removed.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of Gaylord and hoppers.
  • Ensure all material Gaylords are covered and properly labeled.
  • Confirm that materials are stored in designated areas.
  • Empty and clean grinders and blenders.
Qualifications
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • 1-2 years of experience in mold setting within the plastic injection molding industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Capability to operate powered lift equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and cranes.
