Job Overview

Position: Mold Setter/Injection Molding

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Compensation: $21.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively and safely change molds according to the production schedule and handle emergency mold changes.
  • Ensure proper setup of all molds, including tasks such as mold watering, knockout, hot runner setup, and managing hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Adjust molding press parameters in accordance with the process verification sheet when applicable.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
  • Promptly report any quality or scrap issues to the Production Supervisor or Process Engineer.
  • Remove molds and ensure thorough cleaning of both sides.
  • Clean the MAG plate on both sides as part of the maintenance process.
  • Collaborate with team leaders to develop and execute plans for mold and color changes.
  • Set up associated machinery for mold changes, ensuring smooth transitions to new molds.
  • Maintain a clean and organized mold storage area.
  • Oversee the upkeep of all mold change equipment and report any damages to the Production Supervisor or Technical Manager.
  • Utilize appropriate protective equipment as required.
  • Complete the Mold Change Checklist to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Ensure the pit is cleared, and all previous parts are tagged and removed.
  • Monitor and maintain Gaylord and hopper levels, ensuring all materials are covered and properly labeled.
  • Ensure materials are stored in designated areas and manage the cleaning of grinders and blenders.
Qualifications
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • 1-2 years of experience in mold setting within the plastic injection molding industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Capability to operate powered lift equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and cranes.
