About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team at the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. As a Psychiatrist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality mental health care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric care to assigned patients, including conducting psychiatric work-ups, providing psychotherapy, and prescribing medications.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records, adhering to regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including case managers, social workers, and physicians, to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Current certification to practice medicine in the state of Ohio.
  • Completion of a residency training program in psychiatry, as approved by the American Medical Association or the American Osteopathic Association.
  • 5 or more years of medical practice limited to psychiatry, as per Section 5122.01(E) of the Revised Code.
  • Strong knowledge of medicine, psychology, sociology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
