Position Summary
In the role of Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in managing projects aimed at enhancing our proprietary geological and geophysical (G&G) software suite. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Working collaboratively with EOG's G&G team to identify high-impact software projects
  • Defining the scope and strategic vision for EOG's G&G applications
  • Participating in the entire software development lifecycle alongside a dedicated development team
  • Testing new features using tools such as Tibco Spotfire or Python
  • Developing product specifications and designs utilizing platforms like Figma
  • Offering technical support, training, and updates to end-users
  • Reporting updates and project proposals to senior management
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as geology, physics, petroleum engineering, or geological engineering
  • Experience with geological interpretation software including Petra, Geographix, or Petrel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with software development processes, particularly in geoscience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of fundamental data engineering concepts, including ETL processes, APIs, and data modeling
  • Basic knowledge of SQL
  • Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages
