Job Title: Medication Aide - Harmar Place

United Church Homes, Inc. is seeking a skilled Medication Aide to join our team at Harmar Place. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Job Summary:

The Medication Aide will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide resident care in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. This includes administering medications, documenting resident care, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications to residents as directed by the RN or LPN
  • Document resident care, including medications and treatments administered
  • Participate in nursing report and receive updates on resident care
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, grooming, and hygiene
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to residents
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, including the medication cart and resident rooms
  • Assist with resident transfers and mobility
  • Document resident care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Participate in care conferences and follow individual resident care plans
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the RN or LPN
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant program and Ohio Board of Nursing approved MA-C training
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical records
