Job Title: Home Health Care Assistant

Job Summary:

Crawford County Council on Aging is seeking a reliable and compassionate Home Health Care Assistant to provide in-home care services to clients in their homes. As a Home Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing household tasks, personal care, and related activities to facilitate a client's effort to maintain independence in their home.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide homemaking tasks, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and washing floors, kitchen care, bathroom care, changing bed linens, washing windows, removing trash, and laundry.
  • Prepare meals, purchase groceries, and run errands for clients, including picking up prescriptions.
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation for each client.
  • Apply principles of health and safety in relation to self and client.
  • Observe changes in client status and report to supervisor.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent, or 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to understand written activity and care plans, execute instructions, and document services delivered.
  • Effective communication skills with clients, families, and emergency service systems personnel.
  • Neat appearance, good health, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Good communication and observation skills.
  • Knowledge of general housekeeping procedures and good homemaking skills.
  • Ability to organize time and set priorities.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently.
  • Courteous, cooperative, and even-tempered attitude towards clients and coworkers.
  • Free of disqualifying criminal offenses and able to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's license, automobile insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
